Over the lunch hour the staff of other unions in the province hosted solidarity luncheons for the locked-out members of CEP 481. In Prince Albert, Saskatoon and Regina staff employed by CUPE, SUN, RWDSU, PSAC, SGU, CEP, the SFL and the CLC walked the picked line with us and treated us to pizza. Many thanks for their on-going support!

CEP 481 President spoke to the delegates at the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour’s human rights conference. Conference delegates supported a motion from the floor to pass the hat, and donated $350.00 to CEP 481. We thank them for their moral and financial support!

Over a hundred people joined locked-out SGEU staff on the Regina picket line for a support rally. Picketers from the Prince Albert and Saskatoon offices travelled down to join in. Flags, banners, music and good food made it a festive event. Speaker after speaker voiced support for locked-out CEP 481and urged a return to the bargaining table and to fair collective bargaining.

CEP local leaders learned that SGEU had set up an alternative office in the Ramada Hotel in downtown Regina and advised hotel management that we would have no choice but to conduct secondary picketing. By noon, Ramada management advised us that SGEU was moving out!
